Description: Locally known as “Beer Corner USA,” Crescent Moon, Max and Joe’s, and Huber House are truly a beer lover’s paradise. The three bars—all connected—each have a specific focus. Crescent Moon focuses on locally crafted beers and ales, Max and Joe’s on Belgian style beer, and Huber House—in the basement of the Moon—entirely on German beer. The bars are popular hangouts for Creighton University students, though on most weekend nights the crowd is a healthy mix of students, 20- and 30-­somethings, and people there simply to drink good beer and watch sports on one of the large televisions scattered through all three spaces. Though they’re connected, each bar has its own personality. Crescent Moon feels like a downright American beer bar, while Huber House has long wood tables and oftentimes patrons chug beer out of a giant glass shaped like a boot. The calmer Max and Joe’s is on the east end of the Moon and has a more laid-back atmosphere. The Moon sells packaged beer on-site that can be taken to go.
