Description: This longtime Plaza favorite offers a running fashion show as bags tagged with Armani Exchange, Betsey Johnson, and Halls pass by its row of tables on the sidewalk. There’s also a popular deck out back and the inside tables have wall-to-wall windows plus a fireplace for coolish weather. The food is good from any vantage point. This is the place for a power breakfast with business leaders making deals over eggs Benedict or biscuits and gravy. At Sunday brunch, the pace is more relaxed, but the food is just as tempting. The pancakes are so famous you can now purchase the mix to go. Lunch favorites include the spicy Thai pizza, salads, and pastas. Daily specials live up to the name. Dinners might start with gnocchi with a Gorgonzola-walnut sauce. Entrees include grilled rack of lamb and roasted chicken. And while other restaurants may close for a few hours between lunch and dinner service, Classic Cup offers an in-between menu with many of its favorites to tide you over or fuel the next round of shopping. To accompany your meal there are 40 wines by the glass as well as an 800-bottle wine cellar. You’ll be glad you saved room for dessert once you taste the Classic Cup’s legendary bread pudding with hot caramel sauce. The Classic Cup is open seven days a week, and reservations are a good idea.
