Description: Enter the riverfront aquarium’s underwater world that includes more than one million gallons of fresh- and saltwater exhibits.Stroll through a sunlit tunnel surrounded on three sides by a Caribbean reef (sort of like snorkeling without getting wet), where the colors of the coral are reflected in a dazzling collection of tropical fish. Check out two of the aquarium’s celebrities, Southern sea otters Buck and Emma, and watch them get fed at 2 p.m. daily. Visit the Rockhopper penguins waddling around on their big orange feet. And, if you dare, touch a cownose stingray in the Adventure Island exhibit. The aquarium is open Tues through Sun 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Audubon Institute offers discounts to individuals who wish to visit more than one of its four attractions—Audubon Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas, IMAX Theater, and the new Insectarium.
