Description: Brother Martin is a private Catholic school for boys in 8th through 12th grade. The school has a lay and religious faculty and is under the direction of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, who have educated children in New Orleans since 1869. The school philosophy states: “The most important aspect of any Catholic education is the development of Christian values and the transmission of the Catholic heritage. We accept this task as the call of the Church and as the primary goal of our school apostolate.” Students study basic subjects in either an honors or academic curriculum. Recent graduates have been accepted at Rice, USC, University of Virginia, and Yale. Admission is based on a student’s desire to attend, overall elementary school record, recommendations of elementary principal and teachers, and an interview with the applicant and his parents.
