Description: Established in Smyrna in 1976, Ridgeview Institute is a private, nonprofit behavioral health care system that provides treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and addictive problems. The facility’s comprehensive continuum of care includes intensive inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment options designed to keep costs down and promote a prompt return to job, family, and community. Special services at Ridgeview include the Impaired Professionals Program and the women’s center. Respond, Ridgeview’s mobile assessment team, provides free psychiatric and addiction assessment and referral services. The Respond team offers telephone consultations within 10 minutes and on-site evaluations, when needed, within one hour, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. One of a minority of hospitals in the country not owned or managed by a health care corporation, Ridgeview has treated more than 30,000 patients.
