Description: Opened in 1984, Gwinnett Medical Center is a 500-bed, acute-care hospital offering all general medical, surgical, and diagnostic services. This center is the system’s flagship hospital, providing inpatient, outpatient, and 24-hour emergency and Level II trauma care. The center also provides cardiac catheterization, lithotripsy, and magnetic resonance imaging services. There are more than 800 physicians and 4,000 employees on staff. Gwinnett DaySurgery, on the Gwinnett Medical Center campus, houses the GHS Laser Institute. This facility specializes in some of the most advanced outpatient laparoscopic and laser surgeries available regionally and is the site of national physician and nurse training. The Scottish Rite Children’s Emergency Center at Gwinnett Medical Center serves pediatric emergency cases. It is part of the Promina Health System.
