Hello,

I am a 19 Y.o Male from PA looking to move out West with my best friend who is 22, preferably Wyoming. My old man lived in Jackson growing up and said that was a nice place but thats way to expensive. Right now I live in a town you could throw a rock from end to end but im looking for a little more out in WY since I dont know anybody. Meaning a little bigger town somewhat like Cody but from research theres not many jobs in Cody. Me and my friend have good jobs back home in heavy equipment operator, so that's what im looking for. Any suggestions? Thanks a ton!

There's a lot of Wyoming jobs posted on the Wyoming at Work website, which is the state employment agency site. Heavy Equip operator should have little problem finding a job ... your big problem will be finding affordable housing.

Default Cody Question

Cody is a great place to live. I have lived here for a couple of years now. They have a college 20 minutes away in Powell as well as an outreach college right here. I'm not sure about construction jobs. You can also check out codyenterprise.com. That is the local paper and they have job listings.

Thanks for the help sunspirit and sheridantaylor. I'm thinking gillette because of all the mines nearby. I hear housing in gillette is pretty hard to come by so where would be a nice place to live but a commute to gillette within 30-45 min.

Here are a few employment links through the Gillette Chamber of Commerce website:

Employment Resources (http://www.gillettechamber.com/wygilcoc/doc.nsf/doc/EmploymentResources.cm - broken link)

Rozet and Wright are nearby, but I'm not sure if it would be easier to find housing there either, as they are much smaller.

There are several apartment buildings in Gillette. You could call and get on the waiting lists and see about the prices. And maybe you'd get lucky and get an opening right away.

It'll probably be easier to find a job than a place to live, but if it's what you want, keep at it.

(My dad lives in Chester, PA... grew up there and then moved back after retiring from the military. He's hoping to move out west soon too, to be closer to his kids) Good luck.
