It's amazing that somebody actually remembers the details. You're good!

Yes, now that you filled in the blanks, I do recall it better. Thanks.

They're not confusing, though. Yreka is prnounced why-REEK-a.

But in Texas, only about hour's drive apart, are Boerne and Burnet, pronounced BURN-ee and BURN-it, and combined with the word Texas, both sound almost exactly the same. Except in the letter, where one holds the tongue against the back of the teeth for a perceptible interval.

Menominee and Menomonie, Wisconsin, are 180 miles apart and pronounced the same.

The airplane mixup actually happened to my stepdaughter, who booked a flight with her travel agent to LaPaz, Bolivia, and when she got off the plane, discovered that she was in LaPaz, Baja, Mexico.

I've just read a restaurant menu online, and several dishes they offer are served with "grave". I really hope they mean gravy!

With all the news about Angelina Jolie's "preventative" mastectomy, it got me thinking about why that particular usage as opposed to just plain "preventive". I always thought preventive was the correct usage.
I've never heard "inventative" or incentative or anything similar. Thoughts, anyone?

But you just added two back in! Very clever though. Very inventative. What was your incentative? Was the thought process intensasive?

Well, I happened to be thinking about boobs today. And posted a little song parody down in FLA forums on that very subject, involving cancer screenings and mammograms. So that was in my head.

And I went with the tata connection and made a little joke. The parody in question.

Lumps (Apologies to Van Halen - Jump)
Hit me Jam Master PDFanHalen
I get up
And nothing gets me down
You've got it tough
I've seen the toughest around
And I don't know
Baby just how you feel
You've got to roll with the punches to get to what's real
Ah can't you see me standing here against the breast exam machine
It's not the worst that we've seen
Ah can't you see what I mean
Ahh might as well self-exam
Check for the Lump
Go ahead check for lumps
Go ahead check for lumps
Hello, hey you, who said that
Maybe how you been
You say you won't know, you won't know until you begin
Ah can't you see me standing here against the breast exam machine
It's not the worst that we've seen
Ah can't you see what I mean
Ahh might as well self-exam
Check for the Lump
Go ahead check for lumps
Go ahead check for lumps
Check for those lumps
Lumps
Go ahead Lumps
Get it in Lumps
Go ahead Lumps
Pink Ribbon in your hair.

Then I wrote a poem about boobs, inspired by the thought process and sent it to a few friends. If no one is offended I will post it. But, it's PG-13 type stuff. I had a picture of Pam Anderson in her LaBatt's shirt she was discovered in, and Cher in a Bob Mackey Indian getup, but I'm not gonna link them in.

Spoiler
Boobalicious.

Boobalicious
Delicious
Nutricious
Not for you, you sicko
Splendiferous
Gravity defying
Awe inspiring
Eye popping
Song inspiring
Into the zone
Makes ya moan
Pamela Anderson
where have you gone?
Ah well,
there's always another pair
well I declare
It's Cher...
In Bob Mackey getup
stand up and cheer
Have no fear
It's very clear
She's rocking the headgear
and has no stagefright
as she's outta sight
Singing into the night
True delight

Today has been a boobs day so far. That and in FFA down in music for fun. It's all for fun, just to share.

I just take what I read on the forum or the music I listen to and write something quickly.

I Can't Take it Anymore

Words mispelling
Writing worse than
Aaron Spelling
why are we felling
trees for this...
I'm welling....
Can't take anymore
Electronic disporia
there is no euprhoria
reading your verbal diarrhea
Get a spellchecker please
Ignore any typos you see
Do not write to me
As I assault sanity
with poem, silly...

I'm thinking maybe you're male, bountybligh, since it's doubtful a female would write a parody of breast cancer. Fortunately, I've not had it and, am so thankful. I'm only writing to suggest you honor testicular cancer with a cute parody. I think men would be appreciative. It's the same type as breast cancer. My uncle had it and eventually much of his genitalia rotted off. Really funny material, eh?

That's why I recommend early screenings and self exams right in the song my hypercritical dear.

He should have seen a doctor certainly. I'm guessing he ignored pain in his testicles for quite awhile.

By special request:

You Dropped a Ball on Me (Apologies to The Gap Band - You Dropped a Bomb on Me)

Hit it Jam Master Rubi3
Whhooooo
You burned me down
You changed my world
You were a pain, ignored
You lit the fuse
In my pants I did choose
to ignore pain testicle
But you turn me off
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
You were my friends
You hurt my feelings
You dropped a ball on me
You turn me off
You hurt so long
Shouldn't of ignored cancer screen
For so long
Umm
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
Just like the Doctor said
I lost lefty
You took me to the operating room
I've never been so high
You burned my vas deferens
You are my hope
Doc, don't choke
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
But you turn me off
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
You dropped a ball on me, baby
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
Radiation in motion
Dealine approaching
You are the Doc for me
Will I be able to explode
after treatment solution?
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
You dropped a ball on me, baby
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
I won't forget what you've done today
You dropped a ball on me
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
You dropped a ball on me, baby
Baby, you dropped a ball on me
Aye, Aye, Aye
Aye, Aye, Aye
Gonna get better
You turn me off
You hurt so long
You dropped a bomb on me
Turn your head to the left
And cough please
See Doctor for regular screenings
You dropped a ball on me
