Cult activities in your country (America, quote, God, belief)

I am an American interested in new religious movements and cults. Which ones are in your country? Did they ever try to convert you?

In my country of Kazakhstan, we have a great many of cults. In my city of Shymkent we have a 3 known cults. One cult in particular try to convert my wife at local market. They speak of crazy thing and sacrifice of horse to their god on the Planet of Eypes. My wife say you crazy, that planet does not exist. They say they have a ceramony of drinking of horse urine which enable them to see vision of their god. After they fight russians they say they take a spaceship and go to their god planet. My wife curse them in native tongue and leave before she say they convert her. Hope I help, very nice.

Very interesting post, I like to hear other people's experiences from different countries, especially places I have little knowledge of. I know that once they got to the horse urine drinking part of their belief system they wouldn't have the slightest chance of converting me.
