While I've noticed jobs are scarce, I also notice there are many more ads seeking interns. Are businesses trying to cut costs by replacing experienced workers with free workers? Has anyone else noticed this?
I don't know if I've noticed this but I think it should be illegal. I'm in a radiological technologist program through my college right now and I keep running into people volunteering at the hospital in the imaging department, with hopes of being accepted into a program in the future. I wish all these idiots would stop wasting their time and let the hospitals require some paid help, I could really use a techs assistant job to get me through school.
It's scaring me. I look on the job boards and see these fantastic, $40,000+ jobs, and go down to the compensation, and they say INTERN!
