Choose among the following options: Who is more employable nowadays for accounting/economics related jobs?
1- A young guy who has only High School and a course or non official diploma in accounting/economics but 2 years of job experience not in big/neither well known companies, but related to accounting/economics and knows about SAP and related software.
2- A young guy who has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Economics and a Master's Degree in Accounting/Economics, average GPA, not in a well known college/University and he has no real job experience.
3- None of the previous guys are suited/employable in today's job market.
Justify your answer.

2) isn't a young guy anymore, but thinks he is competing against earlier 20s year olds for a job when he is really competing against other masters degree holders with years of experience
1 and 2 do not compete for the same types of job, if they are, then one of them isn't doing it right
Everything else equal outside of the information given?
For most general office jobs, #2 no question. A bachelors and masters in those fields means #2 will have a few job offers waiting without really trying, assuming their personality is somewhat level enough to get through interviews.
#1 will struggle to get the majority of white collar jobs with no college degree.
Why would guy#2 go for a master's degree in accounting or econ if he has no work experience? If this was real, he would probably end up in this forum complaining about the job market and how school is a scam.
I'd rather be Guy#1 assuming they are both the same age. With that background, I could get myself some type of account payable or receivable job that pays well enough while I go to school in the afternoon.

Here, it would be 3. For accounting/finance/economics department jobs, we would require advanced degree and at least 3 years experience. In fact, our accounting department minimum now is CPA and 5 years.
There are jobs where the first guy will never get in the door without formal education. There are jobs where the second guy will never get in the door without experience. There are jobs for both of them. Some of those jobs can lead to incredible careers, others will be dead ends. But without more detail, how would anyone know? Both of those guys should go out and do the best they can and not worry about what "everyone else" says.
