A one or two day notice to my current employer... (employee, job)

I received an offer letter at a company in my hometown, which is 1,000 miles away. The offer letter, however, did not have a satisfactory salary, so I'm negotiating it now. I still have not given notice to my current employer since I didn't SIGN an offer letter with a satisfactory salary. I will probably receive the offer letter this week.
The problem is, I took all next week off, as I will be going back home for Christmas. If I receive the offer letter this Wednesday or Thursday, I will just tell my boss I will leave Friday, without a 2 week notice. There's no point in leaving for Xmas and coming back for a day or two to fulfill the two week notice. Matter of fact, some companies let employees go the same day, without any notice. Giving a one day notice would certainly make them very angry, but I have been in this job for just three months and don't plan to list it on my resume. Would it really matter that I'm giving a one day notice? I'm fine with burning these bridges as I will never work with these folks again as they live 1,000 miles away from my hometown. I don't intend to make giving such short notices a habit, so this notice will be an outlier.
Your question is very odd. You say that you know what you're doing, know that it will make your employer angry, and that you don't care. Then you ask if it will matter. It sounds like you know it will matter, but are hoping someone will tell you that it's no big deal. I doubt that will happen.
As far as the employer not giving the employee notice on firing, you are right, but unfortunately that doesn't matter. The reason is because the employer generally will always have another employee who will take the job, whereas most employees don't have as much demand by companies for them.
I would probably recommend just telling the new company that you need to push the start date back to give notice, which they probably would understand. But if you really don't care, then do whatever.

Most employers will ask for two weeks notice and hold it against you if you don't give that much, but then when you give it, escort you out the door on the spot. As long as you are sure you never want to go back to that job, just apologetically give the 2 days notice.
We are all easily replaceable, even though some like to think the company will fall apart without us giving proper notice. Anyway, since you're not even putting it on your resume, which is smart since it's just a three month gig, there should be no fallout from it except maybe a frustrated boss. Even if he is frustrated with you, he's paid to deal with issues just like this, so no big deal.
If you guys are all so sure that most employers will immediately fire you as soon as you give two weeks notice, then why not tell him to give two weeks notice, since you are all saying he will then immediately be thrown out of the business?
Whatever you do, DO NOT give notice before you have a written offer from the new employer that you are willing to accept!
