Did a short stint in software sales and tried to stay in the industry. Poked around Salt Lake City, actually a bunch of IT stuff there. It was the next biggest city to where I was living at the time.

Only downside to the firms that I interviewed with in Utah is that they wanted insane job skills. Because so many Mormon men go on overseas missions it's the best two year training program for sales out there. So if a company wanted someone with an accounting degree, bilingual and sales experience chances are they could find that person in Utah. Ran into one guy while interviewing at a bio-tech company who was the VP of sales. Had a MS in the sciences, MBA and could speak Chinese. Not a knock on the faith, but to say that many in the Mormon faith are driven to succeed is an understatement.

Austin is seen as a tech Mecca but many of my friends in tech sales actually work more on Dallas and houston, meaning they travel a lot. But I guess that's true of any sales job. Austin is a smallish city that can be saturated and expensive to boot

I work for an IT sales company. I think our strongest regions are the Midwest and East Coast.

I am leaning towards CA. That's where I am from and my best sales years were there. I like both So Cal and Nor Cal I have lived in both.

Thanks that is so helpful I was considering there, similar to Denver, cheaper housing, but I won't be able to compete MS, MBA, and Chinese. Great salesperson I am superman I am not.
