Could it be distracting to send a fax during lunch hours? (cover letters, job application)

When I go out and apply for jobs in person at employers, I try not to apply between 11pm and 1am since workers on usually on break during that time and I don't want to bother them then. What do you think about faxing them a job application during those hours? I sent a company my resume through fax at 11am this morning and was wondering if that could have bothered them a little if a manager was on break. I know they could decide to read it later, but could seeing/hearing their fax machine distract them from their break if it's something not really important?
I haven't seen a fax machine in years. While I have a "fax" number, I haven't received a fax in over two years. And it's all automated, so it arrives like an email.
I'm also familiar with Beta tapes and laser discs.
LOL!!
Faxes are seriously outdated. I don't even know anyone that still uses them. At my old job, the VP was campaigning to stop listing our fax# on our business cards. They are outdated, horrible looking and slow.

Email is the way to go.
Seriously??
Lots of business cards and company websites from where I am list their fax numbers, along with their phone numbers and email address. The company that I sent faxed my resume to this morning wanted me to send them a fax when I called them to apply for a job.

Then you should be fine for that company.
But many are not using fax machines anymore. Even though they list a fax number.
In fact though, I'd think by using a fax machine, they are seriously old school and probably behind in technology.
Sorry, I just hadn't used a fax for resumes or cover letters, etc. in fifteen years. I've always only accepted applications, etc. via email. I don't accept walk ins, faxes or mailed-in.
Just send it when you have it ready. They can't read whats not there.
