We are considering relocating to Asheville and need some guidance. We are looking for nice neighborhoods with easy access to downtown as well as conveniences (i.e. grocery store within an easy drive, etc.) but don't want to live in Target/Wal-Mart/TGIFriday land! Looking for houses in the $300k range. Also, please give opinions on the schools in Asheville. Which are good and which should we stay away from? Thanks.

North Asheville is the best part of Asheville in my opinion. We have lived here for 16 years and are now selling our home in fact ($350 ish range.) Asheville city schools are great. And we're only 7 minutes from downtown.
