We are looking to move from Fairfield (city) somewhere that is a good commuting distance to the Bronx (Morris Park) and Mt. Kisco. Some of our criteria are good schools (preferably with aftercare programs), reasonable commute for both of us, and good schools. We would prefer to not spend more than 1.5M on house but can go up to 2M if needed. So far we have have considered Greenwhich and parts of Westchester county (Bronxville, Scarsdale). We would like a town that is similar to Fairfield as we like it a lot. My concern with Greenwhich is the lack of diversity compared to Fairfield, I also hear drugs can be problem in HS, and potentially a long commute to the Bronx (how bad would the drive be?) My concerns with Scardsale/Bronxville are honestly that we would have to spend closer to 2M and the ridiculous property taxes, but being closer to NYC and the shorter (by how long?) commute are appealing.

How lonk do you think the commute to the Brox (Montefiore) would be? Google maps tells me 30-45 minutes at rush hour but idk whether to trust it.
I used to take classes at the NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx. Montefiore isn't too far away from it. From Yorktown NY to NY Botanical Gardens, the fast route was Taconic, to the Sprain Brook Pkwy, to the Bronx River Pkwy. It was exactly 40 minutes during the day without heavy traffic.
You are further south and east, so it's obviously not the same. The google directions say you should use the Hutchinson River Pkwy N (which is frequently backed up) or use I-95 (which is also frequently backed up). You could take 287 West to the Sprain Brook Pkwy.
On good days, it would be 45 minutes and longer on bad days. I would listen to the radio/TV before leaving to see which roads are backed up. Then have a couple of routes to chose from.
It can be done. To be sure, do a couple of practice runs before bidding on a house.
Pelham is probably in the mix, although if you are looking at towns like Greenwich, Scarsdale and Bronxville, Tuckahoe schools might not be ranked high enough for the OP. Tuckahoe has good schools, but not highly ranked schools like Scarsdale, Bronxville, etc.

Got it...Tuckahoe is the smallest out of the districts mentioned as well.
With that said, you may not have to pay as much for a home there.

I'd consider Metro North to the Bronx. If you send me a direct message stating what neighborhood you must go to/from, I can further guide you regarding commuting time.
Covid temporarily made the drive better, but I would still suggest Metro North as an option.
