Hello there. I am looking to potentially purchase a home in Palm Springs. It seems there is some new construction going on there and there will soon be a Top Golf as well. I just moved to FL not too long ago and anytime I bring up Palm Springs, nobody knows what I am talking about. Just in case, I am referring to the area southwest of West Palm Beach proper.

Is this area just unknown? Is it up and coming? Any thoughts on this area from a living perspective? Would appreciate your opinions before I make a big purchase.

I would not want to buy a home in Palm Springs. I would simply drive around and you will see yourself. They did a nice job with congress ave and the retail store environment, but palm springs is a dump plain and simple

To me Palm Springs and Palm Desert are places I would not choose to live.
If you like DESERT I guess they're okay but :
  • They are super HOT and super DRY to the point your lips will get chapped. Just like Las Vegas.
  • If you like to go to fancy restaurants and stuff and you have money to burn you might like it but to me that is not the life I'm looking for
  • There's really not that much to do there unless you love golf and tennis and can take doing those things in 100+ degree weather.
  • They're far from any other cities or places of interest that aren't "desert"
That said, I have a friend whose family lives in Palm Desert and he is planning to move there with them. All i can say is he must really feel a need to be with his family. I and his other friends just shake our heads and wonder WHY anyone would choose to move there.

To each his own but I'd hate living out there.

I think you made a wrong turn way back, Van.

I live in Greenacres, which is pretty nice. However, Palm Springs which is about 15 minutes away is not a desirable area. It's pretty run down. You may have better luck with West Lake Worth.
