Thinking of living in the North Palm Beach county area (Jupiter, Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach. West Palm doesn't seem practical because it's either too pricey or too run down. What are the pluses and minuses of North Palm Beach county in terms of jobs, cost of living, family and lifestyle?

North County is just as expensive and has it's run down areas as well. Rents are just as expensive and it's very seasonal in NPB, Tequesta and Jupiter.

There are some drawbacks living in North County, close to Riviera Beach and of course lack of some stores, many of which are on Northlake Blvd, Target, Costco and etc. Gardens Mall and PGA have enough dining and shopping to keep many happy but it's mainly becoming high end, with the exception of a few stores. The mall itself targets the affluent shopper.

Everything else is what you make it, depends on the person and what they desire? The beach access is great, but you are a further drive from everything else that is down south. I work with people who live in Jupiter Farms, many won't even drive down to West Palm Beach because they claim "it's too far a drive".

Jobs, well that's a another can of worms, depends what you do? There is not a whole lot in PBG, I work there but the market is not very good overall. No real big employers, service, medical and a few aerospace companies. Rumor has it FPL is going to put a new campus in off of Kyoto, not sure when?
