I just accepted a job in downtown WPB and am looking for a 1 bedroom apt in a nice area...not more than 15 mins from downtown...dog friendly...and less than $900/mo. Any recommendations? I'm new to S.FLA...any areas to drive around or areas to avoid? I'd like an area safe to walk my dog. I've read that maybe the Villages area off Palm Beach Lakes. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

You may want to look downtown or along Flagler. Flagler Pointe on N. Flagler, or Viking Arms and Flagler House on S. Flagler (in a better area) are good options with apartments in your price range right now.

Also, check out the Montecito, which is a full service building right outside of Cityplace, next to the Marriot.

Thanks! I'd love to be downtown, but I have a 65 lbs golden retriever. Do any of these allow large dogs?

Hmmm, 65 pounds will be difficult downtown.

If you look in the Villages, take a look at the Sterling. Right now there is a listing for a 1 bedroom at $750.... says that it accepts pets, but unfortunately I do not know about the weight restrictions, if any.
