Some of you are going to laugh at me for this question. I can't help it. It's something I've never experienced.

What's sleet? I've heard the word but I've never seen it.

Thanks for the education . . . btw, at least I didn't ask about "rain" or "snow." I've seen those on the tv.

It's in between rain and snow. Wiki has a summary at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleet.

Well, you know what rain is. You know what snow is. Sleet is when rain freezes and falls in little balls. Like hail, only rain drop size. Like little BB's all over. Harder to drive on then snow. With snow you get traction. With sleet, your screwed. hahaha

Sleet is ice pellets. I don't mind it, but I prefer snow when we're talking about Wintry weather.

I actually always that that sleet was the melting, slushy snow you get after a good thaw. hahah

Thanks guys . . . so it's like geting hit with buckshot (sleet) instead of being whacked by a 12 gauge slug (hail). Now I get it. Thanks again.

Sleet was mad when it started, but kind of warmed up to you when it got here. Freezing rain started with some optimism, but copped an attitude when it met ya. When it gets here sleet goes into a "Wicked Witch" imitation, whereas freezing rain is more like a mother-in-law who comes for Christmas, but doesn't plan to leave until Easter.

Good luck in New Hampshire. Been there in Winter. It's beautiful if you don't slip and fall.

Garth..........If you stood on my front lawn today..........You'd of felt Sleet!
I donno' I have never been hit with buckshot.......
But, I have sure been hit with sleet.
Its not fun to drive in because it is ICE.........I'd rather drive in snow anyday.
I'd post a picture, but then again..........sleet is hard to photograph...
