That's not so bad... When we exceed 50 F in winter, we break new daily-record highs!

Even in April, a mid-point our year's seasons, it's not unusual to not hit 50 F (10 C) for a high.

Summers are my favorite but spring is a close second, since it's beauty makes up for its occaisional chilliness.

I saw from other posts how you like it REALLY cold, like 10 F or lower,
but I just thought you might feel bad for those pretty bushes to bite the dust...
Or would you rather be able to experience that extreme cold snap and have to go buy new plants later?
(Like when I want consistant 85 F plus weather, I usually have to spend $$$$.$$ and go south 1000-plus miles on vacation. )

I guess for you and I, really good weather has to cost something.
Oh I might feel bad about the flowers for a few minutes but if getting cold weather means them biting the dust, oh well But we would not be replacing them. Yea, if it's cold weather or the flowers, I say bring on the cold

That sucks. Even though our summers are **** at times, on rare occasions for half the ****ing time like now, our winters are warm enough to not die.

Another devastating morning here, will probably be our 4th day below 70.

Some exceptionally cold minimum temps, temp and discomfort factor are listed below:

Adelaide: 53ºF - dangerous
Melbourne: 57ºF - very cold
Mildura: 51ºF (average ~65-68F) - dangerous
Bendigo: 48ºF - deadly
Renmark: 49ºF - (average 65) - deadly

As you can see, this is completely ****ed in the head.

This February wont be forgotten. It will be forever known as the ****test in history, and summer 2007/2008 will be recognised as one of our crappier summers. In some places, Autumn colours are already showing up

Just read the last few pages of this thread to get an understanding of this devastating, inhumane situation: Weatherzone Forums: Vic - Showers/Storms/Rain - Feb 2nd - Feb 10th (OBS)

48 is deadly? Never heard of anybody dying at almost 50.

Today got up to 22*F and I worked outside all day. Didn't wear a hat, gloves or even my jacket for most of the day. Still kicking after 8 hours out there. And when I say work outside, I mean out standing in the snow or in a frozen trench laying pipe for a new electrical service to a store.

all of you seem to be forgetting it's MID FEBRUARY, in other words MID SUMMER. Some of these pathetic day and night temps are occuring in places where the summer averages are in the mid-90's.

One town in northwestern Vic is over 25ºF below average as we speak.
