I just looked it up. The last time we hit 60F was Oct 27th. The last time we hit 50 was Nov 14th. (First time we hit 50 or above was April 19th this Spring.) It was a rather nice Fall. As of this afternoon we have had 125.3" of snowfall with 27.5" falling in Feb so far. So far for the season we are 50.7" above normal at this time. We still have at least 6 weeks of typical snowy weather ahead. I bet we push 170-180" this year.
wow, last time you hit 60 was OCTOBER!, 180" of snow sounds perfect to me, you guys up there are REALLY making up for those not so snowy winters of the past couple of years.
I may have to make a trip to Maine to do some Whitewater rafting this Spring with that much snow melting off!
It is AWESOME! I have swam... rafted the Kennebec, Dead, and Penobscot. All are a blast. Damn near got killed on the Kennebec trip I was flipped out of the raft just as we crested a huge standing wave and fell backwards all the way back down the face of the wave to land right in the hole. Was pinned around a boulder on the bottom for what seemed like an eternity but in reality was probably only 30 seconds or so, before being flushed up and out, instead of down and into the hole below the rock. Last time I took a private raft trip and not one of the outfitters trips.

I'm running out of room fast, the past couple of winters made me lazy when it came to leaving plenty of space for snow removal. We are making up for the last couple winters for sure. Last year at this time we had only gotten 34" of snow total for the year.

Speaking of which, another 6-10" for sure today. A bit cooler than yesterday this morning. It is -6 at my house, but it is going to get up to the high 20's they say, YEA!!!! I have 2 Suburbans in the driveway and the 3/4 ton is even made to look small against the snow banks I already have. I have to have a big snowblower come in tomorrow and pile it higher further back because it is closing in fast.

and people who live here come from all over the world, not just northern European countries.
Ummm, ya... Like 90 miles?
The furthest south that "land" exists is only 30 miles south of Detroit MI; not a big difference.

I believe I'd prefer 106 F instead.
Actually 26 F is not really a problem, but it's frustrating that our only break from the excessive cold, highs of 15 F or colder with 15 mph winds, comes from a southwest wind to pummel us with another 10-15 inches snow.
Maybe some of you can relate, but it could be like a 3-day stretch so hot you feel sick within minutes of being outside, and the only break from the heat comes from a category 1 hurricane.

dude, i would GLADLY trade places with you. you would LOVE it here, we get above 90 at least 60 times a year, and last year we got above 100 16 times, we do get below 32 like 80 times, though,
that's one thing that suprises most people when they go to GA, they don't think it gets cold down here.

Yes, but most Southerners like A/C a lot more than I do and living with ice-cold A/C could have "distorted" their perspective.
While in no way "brutal," 44 F couldn't be labelled anything but cold, even if it's a milder cold. Even around Jacksonville Florida they average lows down to 44 F in January, and also average 12 days with frost and it's record low is 7 F, in NORTH FLORIDA, so Georgia is definitely not immune to cold.
(but that's fine with me; it's good enough that the severe cold does not last)
