I'm looking to rent a first apartment in DC, but because I'm moving from Seattle I don't have a chance to check out the neighborhood ahead of time. One or two of the places I'm looking at are near Gallaudet, and I was wondering if anyone could give me input on how safe the surrounding areas are.
Ditto. Eventually, the money spreading north from Capitol Hill will tame everything up to and past Gallaudet, but for the more foreseeable future, it's not a place that one would choose. There are other, better options out there...
You're seeing great prices near Galludet and near the 'H' Street corridor but they are not for someone just new to DC.
