For those who have read my threads in the past, I'm a closeted Volvo fan. I love the new suv, XC60. Had a chance to drive it at the LA Auto Show for a brief demonstration and fell in love. Now, they come out with this beauty.

I have owned at least one Volvo at any given time, for the last twenty years (since the 80s). I'm pretty brand loyal.

This S60 is nice looking. The design adds a little bit more definition with a few chiseled edges, and the rear end is nice too. I like Volvo's product line in general, and they have done a lot in terms of quality, since the late 90s and early 2000 model years, when the S80 and XC were awash in expensive issues. I hope that they can make the crystal center stack into reality, but who knows what will end up happening once the safety people evaluate it. Maybe they already tackled that, though.

I'm looking at adding another Volvo to my garage within a few months, but unsure which one. Basically I'm waiting to see if Ford hangs onto Volvo, or spins them off to a far east manufacturer, which would probably change my decision.

I'm not-so in the closet about my love for Swedish cars. The XC60 impressed me big-time at the LA auto show, and I'm not too big of a fan of crossovers or SUV's.

Hopefully this new S60 can have a popular enough run to give them the desire to add another R model down the line. Doubtful in the short term, though.
