I had an oversight and claimed that didnt work when I did work one day & made more than 405. Went to claim today and they picked have message to call them. I hope I get through on phone to them to tell them it was an oversight and can they hold a week. Will they from anyone experience? On sundays for me its like regular procedure to claim not worked and submit, that time I forgot.
How long ago was this? Good luck convincing them that it was an oversight. I suspect you'll lose a week because you worked, and you'll lose another week or more as a punishment for your oversight.
hi I realized the error when went to claim this morning and had an oh s**t moment when seen the message to call. I havent received a letter about it yet but will call in the am and hope to resolve. thanks
I misread what you typed. I thought you meant 10/19. No, if they already know about it because it happened a month ago, you'll be hard pressed to convince them it was an oversight. You for sure will get hit for the amount you got by mistake, and you're going to get a punishment by losing benefits for a week or more. Will you be permanently disqualified? I doubt it, but it's going to cost you something.
I called the new hire center and she understood and they removed the block and was told to certify tmrw. I asked do I need to call the claims center about that day that worked and they said to call the claims center as the new hire # have nothing to do with that part. Do I still have to call?
NY can be relatively fair on issues like this if there is no pattern of failure to report. Sounds like payments will continue as usual. Let us know if you hear anything further - i.e., such as a penalty. The rep you spoke with on the overpayment may not be the final decisionmaker on the issue of a penalty. Some states don't bother with them in a situation like yours.
Thanks for the update.
