Have you watched Gangland? At first I didn't want to be part of watching a show that I thought would draw attention to our youth to join a gang because of the history channels exposure to the subject. But after watching a few episodes I'm shocked at just how violent the gangs are, many senseless murders, cops are scared to even go to some of these places. Didn't President Bush say he would fight terrorism here and afar? Why is nothing being done about eliminating these animals from the face of the Earth? If the police can't do it, why can't the people take up arms and extinguish these cowards? It just blows my mind that more drastic approaches aren't tried. What is our tax money going into? Its no longer safe to go for a walk in broad daylight. EW

I watch it every week and you're right, it's scary stuff. The best was the one on Cabrini Green. I live in Chicago, so that's in the area. Gangs shooting machine guns in the air on the start of year 2000 and the cops afraid to go in to stop it - yikes! If I tried that in the suburbs, I would be labeled a terrorist and be taken down quickly. What do you do when the cops are afraid to enforce the law?

I thought that episode was quite amusing when the mayor moved in and to increase her security they inadvertently showed the gangs how to fortify their buildings.

That whole episode with Jane Byrne moving into Cabrini was such a joke. Pure Chicago politics at its finest. Does anyone really believe she gave 2 sh**s about what goes on there. And I like the fact that she had police protection and body guards. Like the residents would be afforded that luxury. I remember seeing this on TV back in the day. My whole family got a good laugh out of it.

I watched a few episodes. The one about the crips, the Latin Kings and ms13. Pretty breathtaking and scary. Also sad.

Certainly dying for your beliefs can be poetic, but in this instance I'm going to go with the "belifs" held being the part that's really sad.

I doubt many kids are watching in the history channel and those that are probably just laugh at their stupidity.

Poetic? Those losers probably can't even spell the word.

Personally, I'd prefer they just round up all of the gang member across the country and let them wipe out each other. It really would be in our best interest.

Without turning this into a politics topic. If cops had all the tools they need including more cops, it would be easier to enforce these scum bags.
