Sometimes the TV listing websites say a 60 Minutes is new but it's actually a rerun, or vice versa. I've only had this prob with this show. Like, it listed the Sunday show about Greg Mortensen to be new but I think it was a rerun.

At what times of year is 60 Minutes generally going to be the new ones?

Don't expect new shows of 60 Minutes until mid-September. I think their new shows air earlier in the season than others.

They may skate through on a technicality in regard to calling it a "new episode" when 90% of it is actually previously-aired material.

They will take previously-aired stories and put them together in different orders, with newly-filmed intros from the reporters (note they often say "In a report we originally aired in April..."), and perhaps an update on something in one of the stories. They can then call it a "new episode," even though you may have already seen most of the material.

Sitcoms have done this for years in "flashback episodes" that are rife with re-purposed scenes, but they are classified as a "new" episode because they add in some new material.
