For me in both distance and time, San Antonio Texas to Seoul South Korea. Full 24 hours of flying with around 7,900 miles covered with all flights combined.

Coming up: cape town to dubai to boston to raleigh. Assuming no glitches or delays, 29.5 hours on the plane and layovers (which are blessedly short).

At least it's Emirates and Jet Blue!

Back in 1994, I did "one lap of America" over a 3-week period, on a pay-one-price, unlimited-use bus pass -- about 8000 miles.

Not sure about distance, but I do remember time: Norman, OK to Hanoi, Vietnam. About 3.5 hours by train to Forth Worth where I had about 8 hours to kill. About another 3.5 hours flying from DFW to LAX. I had about 2.5 hours or so before my flight to Incheon. About 13.5 hours later I arrived in South Korea where I had a 13 hour layover, then about 5 hours flying to Hanoi. Total travel time: about 49 hours.

Two years. Walked across North Africa, down to Lake Victoria, and then around Lake Victoria.

There were many long stops along the way.
