IMO there are many circumstance in which a good roto-mold is almost indispensable. Big offshore fishing and remote camping are two occasions where roto-molds are must haves for me.

Yeti is better quality but for the price you should just get an RTIC. Besides extreme cases, most people do not need a Yeti. The RTIC gets the job done.

People who put RTIC stickers on stuff are kind of silly though.

Bought an H-E-B brand Kodi cooler during their 20% off brand days sale. Rotomolded, insulated lid, vacuum seal break valve, full drain plug, nylon rope handles, non-skid/non-marking feet, tough T-handle latches. Similar features to Yeti and RTIC, but got a 38 quart for around $200. Used one bag of sacrificial ice overnight, then loaded it at 9am on July 4th with 30 lbs. of ice, beer, soft drinks, etc. Is was outside on a covered patio, but the patio is west facing, and does catch the evening sun. The 4th was a Saturday, and there was still 5-6 inches of ice in the cooler the following Thursday. Happy with that for recreational use, and barbecue support operations.

No more silly than most other stickers.

I disagree with everything here. RTIC was at one point more advanced than YETI. They’re about even now, YETI improved. If you want something higher, you have to go to a brand like Techniice.

And posting an RTIC sticker is as ridiculous as posting a YETI sticker. To each his own, I have no problem with either. But both are “silly” to me.

Rtic is literally an off brand of Yeti. Say what you want about putting a cooler sticker, which is sort of strange, but at least Yeti isn't an offbrand.

As for quality, my friends and I have done multiple tests on this. Maybe it is just our coolers.

I always liked my Icehole cooler more than a Yeti or RTIC. Plus Icehole seemed to be in the cooler game long before Yeti (over 35 years).

They are made in Kerrville, TX also but seems like they moved production to another city called Burnet. 100% American made.

Never understood the YETI stickers all over a truck and even a car.
