Hello Everyone,
We are looking at moving to Dickson County or Hickman County this summer. I have done a lot of research on the area and it has pretty much everything we are looking for (from what I can find).

I have a couple questions that I can't get a really good answer on tho. How are the schools there? I have 5 children ages 12, 9, 7, 6, and 3. I'm looking at the Elementry and JR High schools.

How is the medical field? I have 2 children that have special needs so the specialist can't be too far away (within 1 - 1 1/2 hours). From what I understand this is pretty close to Nashville, is that correct?

We are looking for homes with property (1/2+ acre) that aren't too expensive to rent. We prefer to rent at least for a year to make sure that is the right place for us. Right now we are in the Phoenix, AZ area and we are looking for a smaller place to live. We would like somewhere that is very family oriented, has all the seasons (does it snow???), jobs close enough to commute if needed (DH does computer work), activities for the kids/adults/family, ect.

I would really like some feedback from others who live there or know of the area. I have been reading the other posts, but I haven't seen much of anything on this area. Any help will be greatly appreciated. TIA!!!

Jennifer

Dickson County is a very nice area, Less than an hour to Nashville, good schools, and reasonable real estate. Also Fairview, about 15 miles closer to Nashville is an excellent area. We have all four seasons, beautiful fall foliage, but very rare snowfall of much consequence.
I live in Paris, approximately 40 miles NW of Dickson.
