My husband and I will both be 50 years old this October and want to relocate. He is semi-retired. We have a daughter who is away at college and she will only live with us on school vacations. We have 2 small dogs that will be living with us full-time. We want to live in a neighborhood where we can walk to stores, restaurants, movies. We also want a complex that has a pool and a clubhouse/rec room and a gym. What area do you recommend?

Downtown st pete - you can walk to all those, not so many places with clubhouse but some of the newer downtown condos may work for you. I think it's worth checking out old north east or downtown st pete as you would like the ambiance for sure. My friend uses the Y in st pete because it's convenient, on the way to work and nice facilities, she lives in old north east. There are lots of gyms around too. You could possibly walk / cycle to them. Fabulous walking location.
