If you are out in West County, I'd recommend Monsoon Vietnamese. I also like Mei Lee's in U. City and someone else mentioned Pho Grand in the city.

We ate at Modesto on the Hill (why there is a Spanish tapas restaurant on the hill is beyond me! Maybe because it's the only place open on Sunday??) and it was very good.after it being explained to all of us, did look at the waitress and go "So what are these things? appetizers?" - so maybe some of us needed the explanation!) and there were a couple of execution errors in the meal (lamb was overdone) but overall I'd recommend it if anyone is looking for that sort of thing.

There's many good options, but I like taking out of town guests to Blueberry Hill in the loop. Best Asian is House of Wong, either location is upscale and very tasty.
