Would we fit in in Forsyth? (Table Rock: live in, statistics, friendly)

I posted a question about wakesurfing on Lake Taneycomo, but it occurred to me that maybe I should ask more. We currently live in far north Idaho. We are in our late 40's, not worried about finding jobs there, but very concerned about regulations on the lake (we also don't want everyone to hate us on the lake even if we aren't technically breaking any rules because wake boats aren't always popular in certain areas), we want very minimal regulations in general, friendly folks, as few "progressive" minded as possible, as little traffic as possible, and then there is the weather to worry about. Just how hot is it there in August? Also, is the lake pretty clear water, or is it murky to the point where you feel dirty when you get out of it? I've spent hours reading weather statistics on line, but nothing compares to first hand info. We are particularly interested in Forsyth if anyone has any thoughts on that we'd really appreciate it.

Taneycomo is 45 degrees. Nobody goes into it on purpose.

Taneycomo is cold water because of the Table Rock Dam. Some areas of it have warmer water but overall the lake is generally cool.

For recreation I recommend nearby Table Rock Lake. That area of Missouri is warm most of the year even in the winter there are several days with temps in the 60s and 70s and summers are longer.

Like Idaho that is one of the more conservative areas of the state. Only difference is that it is southern down there so culturally it will be a bit different than Idaho.
