Quite simply, as a fan of all sports, the single greatest I've seen is secretariats Belmont. Yes, it's a horse. But the manner and record of that day, quite honestly when I watch that race, I'm still awe struck.
Kirk Gibson's game winning home run in the 1988 World Series. Two things I'll never forget: Kirk pumping his arms as he ran (hobbled might be a better word since he was injured and not even expected to play) to second base and Tommy Lasorda running (well, Tommy's version of running) out of the dugout with his arms raised in jubilation.
Larry Fitzgerald's 75 yard stiff-arm, juke-stepping, leaping-over-anyone-who-got-in-his-way run in this year's Cardinals-Packers playoff game. Followed by his five yard TD to win the game. Lar-ry!! Lar-ry!! Lar-ry!!
Both were stunning moments. Gotta be a tie between the two.

Awesome. Responses. Kudos on l fitZ. Football is say kellen Winslow vs the Dolphins on 81. But I gotta stick with my horse. What he did, I tear up thinking about it, still
Alabama and Auburn; Chris Davis of Auburn returns a missed field goal back for a game winning touchdown to stun Alabama. That was the one of the best upsets in sports I've seen.
I was at the 2014 Boston marathon, and by far it was the most intense emotional sporting event I have ever been at. I don't really know how to describe it, but there was such pride in the event the solidarity between the crowd and the runners is incredible, and everyone involved. The 15 marathon was a return to normal, but still a ton of fun. Also marathons are cool because you get to cheer for people who you know to complete a world class event.

Agreed on that one. One of the most epic football games ever played. The stakes were huge. The game was incredible from beginning to end. And it was won on literally the last second on the rarest play in football.
Another one I'd add to this already good list is the 2008 Wimbledon Finals between Nadal and Federer.
Oh. And the Immaculate Reception by Franco Harris.
