Serena is GOAT, people seem to hate her for that yet love Federer for the same thing. Weird.

In the meantime Nick Kyrgios has been hit with a further suspended ban and fine (for 6 months), for his sledge on Stan Wawrinka:

What I find that is so shameful is that a talent can and will be snuffed..However, his self- impressed state that does not believe the rules apply to him is obvious!...He acted like a jerk and acts rather Non-professional....But he act far more subdued in the last Tournament..But look what happened..He couldn't do his usual schict to offend his opponent ( bombed out badly)...He should be shamed and put on timeout until he understand the Rules of the Road.

Talent will get you only so far..It's what's between the ears that actually enable talented players to excel!! So get a clue Mr. K..Grow up..learn something!! I hate rude/crude and stupid upsetting statements!!

I recall when Serena did that..back in the day..lost respect for her then and I am still on the fence on her even today tho will give her credit for sticktuativeness!!

I seriously don't get the hate for her. She seems down to earth away from tennis.

Not blaming any of you for this, but race comes into it with certain people - no doubt about it. Same with Obama, tougher time he has gotten than what he other well would have.

Agree.

She's not my favorite player, but she has taught me so much about the mental game.

I even channeled her tonight when I was losing in the first set to a much more experienced player. Came back to win 6-3, 6-3.

Blah blah blah strength, blah blah blah. That is helpful, but that doesn't win you tennis. There are bigger, stronger, faster, taller, harder hitting guys than Fed, but that doesn't get them the win.

Some interesting matches in prospect.

Andy Murray vs Kyrgios is surely the stand out for R1

In the women's draw, Serena will need to get past Sloane Stephens & Madison Keys just to reach the QF's. I expect her to do just that, but at least her route to the CYGS isn't a breeze

Kyrgios is a hard draw - but hope Murray puts the cheeky brat out on the 1st day with an easy win.
