Anyone know the average price of a studio in Ballard? Or where I could find some roomies there? Is it expensive?

I'm trying to find out more info about the neighborhood it looks like an area I'd want to move to.

It is a good area to live in.

I don't know about studio rents but a friend of mine rents a 1br near the commons park for under $850. Old building, probably 1950's but very live able.

These places are available, but the stuff on Craigslist is skewed towards the mid- high range.

Now is a good time to drive around and see what buildings have signs out. It is a high demand neighborhood, so most landlords don't need to advertise much to find tenants.

I have a friend paying $1,600 for a 2 br condo, another $850 for a small studio. Go down Market between 15th and about 8th and there are several big new buildings going up, maybe they have a pre-completion special deal.
