Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend:
JUNE 9 - AUGUST 12
Summer Circus Spectacular -- circus acts from Sarasota area & around the world. Show times: Tues - Fri 11 am & 2 pm, Sat 2 & 5 pm. Tickets $20/adult, $13/child ages 12 & under. Historic Asolo Theater, 5401 Bay Shore Rd, Sarasota.
FRIDAY
Suncoast Summer Fest Kick Off Party -- at Joyland in Bradenton, 5 - 9 pm. Dancing, bar, food, casino-style gaming.
P1 Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix Pit Party -- music, food trucks, meet & greet the drivers. Starts 6 pm, free admission, Van Wezel.
SATURDAY
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.
Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.
Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.
Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.
Music at Hart's Landing -- free music starts at 7 pm, 920 John Ringling Causeway.
Wellen Park Pie Bake Off & Watermelon Eating Contests -- 2 groups/ adult and children , 12 - 3 pm, Solis Hall, 19745 Wellen Park Bovd. Pies must be delivered by 11:30 am to compete.
Waves & Wheels Fun Run -- for cars, boats & motorcycles. Travel to designated locations for points. Starts at Marina Jack. Registration 10 - 11 am.
Freaky 4th of July Party -- Hip Hop dancing. Georgies at UTC, ages 21 & over, 10 pm - 2 pm, free admission.
FRIDAY - SUNDAY
Suncoast Largest Food Truck Rally -- charity fundraiser. More than 70 vendors, $5/person admission. UTC (University Town Center) Sat 2 - 7 pm, Sun 12 - 6 pm, Mon 3 - 9 pm.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Races -- best viewing from Lido Key Beach. Starts Sat 1 pm, Sun 10 am. Testing at various times. Wet & dry pits next door to the Van Wezel, public welcome to come see the boats up close.
SUNDAY
Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.
The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.
Wellen Park Farmers Market -- 9 am - 1 pm.
Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- 2023 season is over, back next winter.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote (2023 season has ended, back next winter)
Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay, 4 - 5:30 pm.
Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle -- free event, people gather about an hour before sunset.
Summer Movie Nights at Cool Today Park -- all summer long. Movies at 5 pm. Tickets: ages 4 - 9 $3/ea, ages 10 & up $7/ea. Venice.
Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Races - Awards Ceremony. 6 - 7:30 pm, Van Wezel boat pits. Free admission.
Celtic Jam -- 6 bands performing, seating limited, bring lawn chairs. 3 Keys Brewing, 505 Manatee Ave E, Bradenton, 1 - 10 pm.
Note: Venice's Sandbar annual 4th of July celebration & fireworks has been canceled for 2023.
MONDAY
Bradenton Marauders Baseball & Fireworks -- ball game starts at 6:30 pm, fireworks afterwards. LECOM Field, Bradenton. Tickets $10 - $14.
Fireworks -- Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota. Party with music, food trucks, family activities start at 7 pm, free admission. VIP seats $75/person. Parking $20/vehicle in south lot. Fireworks at 9 pm.
4th OF JULY EVENTS
Knights of Columbus Patriotic Ceremony & BBQ Picnic -- doors open 11:30 am, BBQ starts at noon, ceremony after. $15/person. 512 Substation Rd, Venice.
Punta Gorda's Fisherman's Village Independence Day Celebration -- music 12 - 4 & 5 - 9, fireworks at 9 pm.
Red, White & Boom -- hosted by Bishop Museum of Science & Nature, Bradenton, Riverside Plaza. Food trucks, cash/card bar, activities, 5 - 10 pm, fireworks at 9 pm. $25/adult, ages 4 & under free.
Selby Gardens All American Cook Out -- food catered by Michael's on East, ice cream truck, activities on the lawn, watch the bayfront fireworks from Selby Gardens at 9 pm. $25/adult - member, $35/adult - nonmember, ages 5 - 17 $10/ea.
Palmetto 4th of July Festival -- country & rock bands, craft & food vendors, kids activities, free admission, 5 - 10 pm. Sutton Park. Fireworks at the Green Bridge, Manatee River 9 pm.
North Port Freedom Festival -- activities, vendors, games, prizes, 5 - 9 pm, fireworks at 9 pm. CoolToday Park.
Myakka River Kayak Festival -- music, craft beers, lunch available 11:30 am - 5 pm. Gates open 9 am. Rent kayaks or bring your own. 5000 Venice Ave.
American Fanfare -- choral event of patriotic music at Sarasota Opera House, 4:30 pm, tickets $5 - $50.
Firecracker 5K Run -- 5K race & 1 mile fun walk. Check in at 6 am, runs start at 7 am, North Port High School grounds.
Longboat Key Freedom Fest -- at Bicentennial Park on Longboat Key, parade, food, games, sand art, doggie parade. 9 - 11 am.
Anna Maria Island Privateers Parade -- starts at 10 am at Coquina Beach and travels north to City Pier Park for a picnic. Lots of floats, bands, participants.

Sarasota -- Island Park, 9 pm.
Venice -- South Venice Jetty, 9 pm.
Siesta Key -- Siesta Key Beach, 9 pm.
Palmetto -- over the Manatee River, Green Bridge, 9 pm.

Englewood -- Manasota Key, 9 pm.
