Another festival is being cancelled because of lack of money.

First it was the Reading/Book Festival, now we won't have a Sarasota Arts Day.

What's next? The Film Festival?

White on State 2

The Event to be and be seen of the year.

Thisevent is continuing to grow from year to year and is becoming one of the mostrequested major events for downtown. Last year we attracted a diverse crowd and many who lived further afield, which in turn aided our own tourist industry. Watch an incredible show, take in the music and to wander amongst the white city of vignettes, are justsome of the things to enjoy during the beautiful evenings of late spring.

A90’foot runway will be erected on State Street; this will have an urban andmetallic feel to it. Four lighttowers will protrude from the runway and give way to displays of our local art.The runway will be surrounded by art and material from our sponsors. On therunway an unusual fashion show featuring our local fashion stores inpartnership with home designers will take place. The whole show will be avisual effect of Fashion and Home Design in motion where models become thefurniture of their particular room choice.

Entertainmentduring fashion show break will be very spectacular. Hospitality tents areavailable to sponsors and guest and will have special reserved seating for theshow.

Therewill be white chairs placed either side of the runway for approximately 400.Placed upon the chairs will be any promotional material from our majorsponsors.

Therewill be plenty of room for promotional material and banners to be displayedthroughout the event, or depending on sponsorship levels a vignette to promoteyour company.

TinkerbellEvents and Promotions are proud to be benefitting the Child Protection Agencyfrom

thisevent, as we help to raise funds for a much needed new building to help protectthe children in our community who need help.

I understand that you have to pay for tickets to "White on State". Even though some of the proceeds go to charity, I'm disappointed that our area is getting rid of free entry events like the Reading Festival and the Arts Day.
Those events were great for families with children.

Are there any free events downtown for families any longer or did they all fold?

4th of July fireworks, boat races, halloween, new years eve, and more...tickets to White on State are $10.....for a SRQ event, you can't beat that price when you know tickets to any type of fundraiser/gala during the year start at $100 and up...best $10 anyone could ever spend....

Can't in all good conscience go to the speed boat races, a.k.a. killing of turtles in their natural environment by million dollar speed boats.

That's the only free "festival" in downtown Sarasota now?
The 4th of July, Halloween and New Years Eve aren't festivals. Every town has them.

Thank you Ladywithafan, I knew you would know. I wasn't aware that the Film Festival had free screenings for children. I will have to look into that when it comes around again.
