Probably the most racist and NIMBY city in California.

Cupertino faces its housing reputation as cities get ready for SB 9
The city has earned a reputation for resisting state housing mandates

Cupertino mirrors every affluent city in California, and I doubt it's the worst. Look at Beverly Hills and that entire West side of LA. Same for many parts of San Diego. In the bay area, Lafayette, Piedmont, Los Altos, Palo Alto, and most of the affluent cities on the Peninsula, not to mention Marin and Napa counties. These places are all staggeringly racist and extremely NIMBY.

Haha! This will be fun to watch the elitists whimper and scramble to find a way to get out of this! When Big Leroy and Lil Laquisha move in next to Kyle and Karen Nimbypants.

But Malibu was pretty much all White then while Cupertino is less than 30 percent White now.

More like Raj, Ying, and Mahamad than “Kyle and Karen” as Cupertino is already very diverse with affluent Asians and Middle Easterners.

I am talking about every beach community down the whole state of California that have kept low income black family's out by only providing 'seniors only' or 'disabled' low income housing. Usually this 'senior' housing is only studio apartments so in no way low income minority family's can move in.

Know several families from South America that have lived in Cupertino for decades... Spanish is the language spoken and all the kids attended Cupertino High School...

Not once did the subject come up of racism...

It is true that just about every home sold is to Asian families as the public schools and low crime bring a premium price.

My grandparents and their best friends bought nesrly identical new homes circa 1960.

Grandparents in Oakland and their friends Cupertino.

Grandparents paid a premium because home in Oakland ... their friend paid less because Cupertino was so far out.

Fast forward 60 years and the cheaper Cupertino home is worth 2.5 times the more expensive Oakland home...

I'm 4th generation Oakland we are building here...
