Sure thing!

And now in SB County, the # of cases jumped from 183 just yesterday & now showing 254 & it's not even midday (12 noon) yet!

Yesterday, I told myself I'm only going out for food & maybe some walking (for exercise). I can order everything else online. I shouldn't be out of the house any more than every 3-4 wks.

A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy died Thursday morning from complications of the coronavirus, the latest sign of how law enforcement is being hit hard by the outbreak.

The department tweeted that Deputy Terrell Young was its first member to succumb to the virus. Young battled symptoms of COVID-19 for a week before his death, Sheriff Chad Bianco said in a Facebook post. He served in the department for 15 years.

"San Bernardino County reported its eighth coronavirus-related death Thursday as its overall case count climbed past 300.

Amid the widening pandemic, the county on Thursday ordered motels, hotels, residential rentals and other short-term lodging facilities to close unless they are being used as part of a COVID-19 response.

“Short-term rental activity continues to be an issue in our county’s mountain and desert communities, which is understandably causing distress to local residents who are acting responsibly and are concerned about the spread of virus by tourists,” Dr. Erin Gustafson, the county’s acting health officer, said in a statement."

Riverside County’s public health officer on Saturday ordered all residents to cover their faces when leaving home, marking a dramatic escalation by county officials in their attempts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Dr. Cameron Kaiser said despite previous pleas from county officials for residents to socially distance, cover their faces and stay home, “more and more” residents were getting infected with the virus, and “not everyone’s getting the message.”

“We change from saying that you should to saying that you must,” Kaiser said in a prepared statement published by the county.

As of Saturday, Riverside County has reported 665 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while 18 people have died from the disease, officials said.

Face coverings can include bandannas, scarves, “or other clothing that does not have visible holes,” according to a prepared statement from the county. Medical grade masks, like the N95, should be reserved for healthcare workers and first responders, the statement said.

Three more employees with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have tested positive for the coronavirus, doubling the number of people in the agency infected as the death toll among residents grew across the Inland Empire.

One of the three new cases is a detective assigned to a patrol station who has been off work for the last two weeks with flu-like symptoms. The other two are “professional staff employees,” one assigned to corrections and one to a patrol station in an administrative position. Both had also been off work with flu-like symptoms before getting tested.

They are all doing well and recovering,” the department said in a statement. “We continue to encourage all members to heed the warnings of health officials while on and off duty.”
