Has anyone noticed TC has cut back on a lot of their menu items?

No more (1) chicken flameante, or (2) pollo jack (chicken) enchiladas. These have been like my 2 favorite things from there for over 10 years.

I went to one a few months ago and asked for either of these. They said they didn't have either one. I was a little upset so I left. Today I went to another location and looked at their menu. Sure enough, their menu had changed and they didn't have them there either.

I don't go too often and I am pretty predictable when I go, with ordering the same thing pretty much (beef street tacos), so I haven't noticed anything in particular except the queso. They sell an order of chips and a medium sized container of queso for x dollars but they have always sold me a large container of it (16 ounce) by itself, no chips, that I will bring home for five people to have with our own chips (we don't care for TCs chips) Last time I went to the one by my house for that purpose the manager told me they didn't do that anymore because too many people complained that it didn't come with chips.

I told her I didn't care if it didn't have chips, just charge me whatever and let me have it and it took me a good five minutes to convince her I wasn't going to complain about "no chips". I don't know, it was stupid. For my purposes I guess, HEB is just as close.

Actually I meant to say (2) sour cream chicken enchiladas. Now they only have beef or cheese enchiladas.

It's been 20 years since I first had their Chicken Flameante, because I remember it was summer of 1993. It's been almost as long for the enchiladas. Very sad.

Yes, I was surprised that they didn't have the sour cream enchiladas. We used to get the 3 enchilada plate, one of each, and split it.

They also cut back on breakfast items. Years ago, they had a scrambled egg platter, also had pancakes.

I started eating at Las Palapas b/c of this. Their food has really gone down the past couple of years. I highly suggest Palapas. The newer one on Culebra has a nice patio.

Las Palapas is my go to place. I only go to Taco Cabana for their chicken flautas and soft, beef and chicken tacos.

The only reason I will go to T.C. is for the bean and cheese tacos which the kids like.
They have become so corporate with their food portions that it's ridiculous..

DH suspected that they had shrunk portions...I have always noticed that they weigh the fajitas before serving.

TC's might have finally figured out it was time to (as my step dad would say) "dance with what brung ya" and figured out that a vast majority of their customers want tacos, nachos, and the odd burrito so they cut back on everything else.

I will say thought that I am in love with their steak and egg breakfast taco.
