Websites say 9pm at Woodlawn Park for official City Display, 9:30pm at Hemisfair for Chamber of Commerce display.

OK. I could have sworn I read 9:00 in today's Express-News for that one.

Default LaCantera?

Was thinking to go park at LaCantera and watch the Fiesta Texas show tonight -- just how bad is the crowd doing that? How early do I need to get there to get a decent space?

In case you missed the Hemisfair fireworks show....

It was a great show! Some traffic control would have been nice afterwards.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing them!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July. I spent mine volunteering at the SAFD fireworks hotline. As hopefully most of you know, the use of any fireworks within the city limits is against the law per Sec. 11-56 of the City Ordinance.

Unfortunately, many individuals found their fireworks confiscated and were cited and fined for violating said ordinance last night.

Bexar County did have some "safe zones" set up outside of the city limits, and we instructed folks who wanted to shoot their own fireworks to those locations.

Still, SAFD inspectors were out in full force addressing all the calls that the center received. I will say it was a very busy evening, but as far as I know there was no significant property damage or injuries as a result of any illegal celebrations last night.

Cheers! M2

Citations for the use of any fireworks in the city can carry fines up to $500, outside the city but in Bexar County a violation of the aerial fireworks band is a class B misdemeanor with fines up to $1000...

Fabulous fireworks at the Tower last night! And even better that I didn't have to leave home to see them

Did Woodlawn Lake have them? I thought the city cancelled its event.
