First, my condolences to Bert Lozano's lifepartner and boyfriend, Roderick Mayfield, and to all of his family as well.

Way back in the day, when I was an intern at KSAT, I ate dinner with Bert one time and a photog at a Chinese restaurant on Broadway by the Witte.

I remember being nervous (and quiet) as heck sitting down at the table eating with him while being "in his company," at the restaurant. I must also confess...I had the biggest, hugest crush on Bert when I was a young 20-something year old, but Bert was pleasant, and had a down to earth personality.

Later on, I tagged along with him and a photog to report on missing cats in a San Antonio Northeast side neighborhood. Here is the video below.

I also added a couple of photo stills from this video to this post as well.

He'll be missed.

He seems like a great guy. Thanks for posting this. it connects those of us that didn't live in SA during his time that he worked here in SA.
