I'll be moving to the Sac area soon and I am not taking my bedroom furniture or couch. I will only be in town for 4 days. As soon as I find a place to live, I would like to pick up some furniture AND get it delivered within 2-3 days. If necessary, I can get my dad to rent a truck and haul it for me. My question: what is a low price furniture store that actually has the furniture in stock? I can't do Ashely Furniture or anything like that, because you usually have to wait weeks for the delivery. I know IKEA has stuff you can just pick up. Does anyone know of any other place? Or even a discount center of a major furniture chain where I can buy floor models on the spot? Or, at the very least, a really reliable furniture store where I can pick an exact day to get it delivered (so I know it will arrive the same day I arrive with all my stuff) - even if it takes a few weeks? Thanks!

In addition to Ikea, I think RC Wiley out in Rocklin can do same day delivery of furniture as well. But that may be more expensive than Ikea.

If you are looking to save some money, your best bet may be to just get an air mattress out at target and use that for a couple of day. Then you can look at buying used furniture off of craigslist or by hitting estate and garage sales. When you are done, you can use the air mattress as a guest bed if you have overnight guests.

If you want well made new furniture that is very cheap, I would look at Deseret Industries off Auburn Blvd. Its a thrift store ran by the Mormons. One of the charitable missions of the Church builds furniture while employing the disabled. The furniture is much better made than the particle board stuff that they sell at Ikea.

You may be able to purchase oak furniture right off the showroom floor at some of the oak furniture stores in the area. We purchased an oak desk about 2 months ago from an oak furniture store on Auburn Blvd. They helped us load it into my truck and we took it home with us. This store had all kinds of furniture, including beds.

Right Costco has plenty of furniture in stock. Its nice and fairly inexpensive.

That might be an option, depending on exactly when you might end up moving here.

I just got back from this awesome furniture store off Northgate called One Stop Furniture. They have an excellent financing and delivery plan, and are willing to negotiate prices.

There is a furniture auction every Friday at River City Auctions on Watt Avenue. They sell bulk quantities of all types of furnitures for really great prices. My wife and I got some good deals there on some furniture sets.
