A bill to ban captive hunting In Rhode Island. “Captive hunting” is defined in the legislation as a hunt that occurs within a structure designed to restrict the free movement of animals and prevents the animal from escaping. The bill has passed the senate this year & the prospects look good for Slater's bill in the house. Thank you Defenders of Animals. The news article is from an earlier failed legislation attempt in 2021.
They aren't licensed by the DEM for the purpose of hunting? Because according to your article, they'd be exempted if they are.
Do they enclose animals for shooting in a small area of their 3500 acres? Too expensive for me to indulge in their fancy place so zero first hand experience.
We have the Little Rhody Beagle Club in Warwick that has been there since I was a child. They are still there so I Googled but they say they don’t kill the rabbits they use to train their Beagles. They did get in trouble awhile back for trapping and killing birds that were taking out the rabbits. Surprised after all these years they are still relevant as a club.
I understand that forum member LRFOX is a hunter. Perhaps he will weigh in.
