It's a ruin located in Brenton Point State Park, not unlike the shell of Ft. Wetherill in Jamestown. The main house was only one victim of the disregard most of these Newport mansions suffered in the 1950s & 60s. Today's Newport is probably one of the greatest examples of a town's comeback in America. No small thanks to the Newport Preservation Society. That & of course location, location, location.
Too busy looking for bargain price half & half?
Too busy watching soccer games?
Too busy brewery hopping?
Too busy looking for a good pie in Boston?
^ All in good fun.
Seriously, I hadn't heard about it either. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. And don't be fooled by the previous response. Our de facto leader never heard of it either. That response was a straight up copy paste job from a google search.

It must be hard to understand, there are people who actually know our state & its history. Everyone here doesn't spend their life cutting & pasting from the internet. Sad, and as usual, creepy.

You have a strange definition of good fun MassNative.
So what were you too busy doing that you never heard about it? Looking up crime stories and googling street views? Going to soccer games, even disappointing ones, beats that anyday.

None of us, including Independent Man, had heard about it. Thank you again for posting. I'm not a huge soccer fan. I find it a little boring. I'd probably be more entertained watching Bucket Boy videos.

Oh so you mean either reply to the topic or move on from it??? Yeah imagine that. That will certainly be noted here...
