The sold for dirt cheap in the early 1980s. I would see them with 429CJ selling for less than similar condition Mach Is with 351W/351C. I test drove one in 1982. Fellow wanted $1500. Nice car too.
I like them all, but have the soft spot for the one my folks bought brand new on May 11, 1974 that I now own. Of course a 74 2dr Montego MX Brougham will never have the monetary value of a Cyclone (or even a earlier plain Montego) but I don't care. And although 70's cars get a bad rap, ours proved to be really reliable and trustworthy. I don't remember it ever leaving us stranded anywhere. It went 125,000 miles before we had to overhaul the motor (351W) and didn't need a paint job until 1995. Of course it was parked in a garage which made a difference. So many memories wrapped up in that car! Every family vacation we took in it. I learned to drive in it. Here's the Marti Report.

I didn't care much for the Pinocchio square nose of the one in the pic but overall a nice car.
