I'm planning on moving to Clayton and was considering renting a house in the Broadmoor or Broadmoor subdivisions in Clayton. Anyone live there? How is the area? How long is the commute to Downtown Raleigh?
Do not live in Broadmoor but know the area. It is not so much Clayton but a very nice area. Depending on what time of day, your commute to downtown Raleigh could be just 20 minutes.
I live in the area and it is a great area. There is a fantastic church near by and the area is growing. It is an easy commute to I-40 and 70. I say go for it!!
From Broadmoor it's just and 8 minute drive to I-40. Not sure where in Raleigh you're headed, but during traffic in the morning, it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the beltline split. Traffic gets worse if you take the inner beltline, better if you take the outer.
Broadmoor is a really nice subdivision. The pool is not included in the HOA fees, so you may have to pay for the membership if you want to use the pool. Not sure what the rent is, but you might want to look around. The homes are more expensive per square foot than homes in the surrounding area that are just as nice. The schools are great and you're only about 5 minutes from 2 grocery stores and a Walmart shopping center, and 15 minutes from White Oak shopping center (Kohls, Target, movie theater, etc).
