If you head a mile or down Glenwood from Brier Creek there is a great place called Hair Champs located to the right of the Raleigh Grande movie theater (off the Glenwood/Lynn Rd. intersection). Both my husband & I go to Larissa and she is wonderful.

Sports Clips are hit and miss. They are a chain. . . .but cater more towards males due to the sport theme. The stylists are the hit and miss part. One day you may go in and get a girl that gives you a good haircut. The next time you go in you may wish you didn't. If you find someone you like, you can find out what days they work, and go back on those days. But you have to wait until they are available. No appointments, to my knowledge. A basic cut is $16, but you can add other services like wash, scalp massage, etc.
Sounds like Hair Cuttery, which I think it still just $11-12, so maybe I'll take my chances there. But thx!
