Ok I am looking to move to NC in 2 weeks. I cannot make up my mind to live in Carrboro, NC or Durham, NC?
I am a 22 year old, single, white female, who will attend school in the fall.
Which is safer?
Which is nicer?

To be specific I am looking at the Poplar Place apartments in Carrboro, NC and the Pine Ridge townhouses in Durham, NC?

Please any opinion would be great!

Where will you be attending school? UNC? Duke?

I don't know anything about those particular apartments, but generally-speaking I think it's best to live as close to school as you can. So if you'll be attending UNC, Carrboro is a better option. If you're going to Duke, Durham will be better.

I second that advice. The drive between Durham and Chapel Hill is NOT high speed and can often be traffic-choked. Not something you want to do twice a day (or more). There is bus service, but it is not that frequent and won't help you much if you want to get back to your house after enjoying some nightlife: TTA - Bus Shuttle

And even if you have a car, perhaps many of your new friends will not--if you are located too far away from school, you might find yourself socially isolated.
